This will be one of the heaviest dosages of information I think I've ever put out here. I shall put in short form, without much fanfare.
- We bought a new house in Elon. We were going to move this past Saturday but couldn't get the truck, so we got the truck for Friday, loaded it up, and then unloaded Saturday morning. We went back to the house Saturday afternoon to get some more stuff, leaving a few handfuls of items (handful of clothes, books, etc).
- We were scheduled to close on our old house this Friday.
- Lightning struck the Winesap house Saturday night around 7:45 PM. Realtor called us. When we got to the house, there were 3 fire engines, and LOTS of volunteers. The only thing still on fire when they got in the house was a carseat, now only recognizable as a molten inch-pile of ash & melted plastic. The fabric on the ceiling caught fire. Lots of heat. Rock houses are great insulators....melted the window units upstairs, lots of smoke damage. Waiting on insurance, working with various companies to get estimates to repair everything...will take months. Needless to say, everyone is ok, and most of our stuff was gone (99%)....had our things actually been there, things would have been much worse....had we been there...we may very well have not gotten out. Hundreds of degrees of heat within 5 minutes = HOT.
- The girl buying our house says she's still interested.
- Hannah is pregnant with number 2. First nurse visit was today, everything ok. Ultrasound on the 5th.
